The Whisky Exchange Launches – ’20 Whiskies That Changed The World’ – Let The Journey Begin!
The Whisky Exchange has launched a tasting set that takes you on a journey through the ground-breaking whiskies of the 21st century!
In the two decades since brothers, Sukhinder and Rajbir Singh founded The Whisky Exchange, which has now become the world’s leading fine spirits retailer, the whisky landscape has evolved dramatically.
From the meteoric rise of peated styles to the emergence of stellar whiskies from Japan, US, India and Taiwan, it has been quite a journey!
Now Sukhinder and Rajbir invite you to experience that journey with 20 Whiskies that Changed the World, sharing the whiskies that have had the greatest impact on them, the whisky industry and whisky fans around the globe.
This eye-catching gift set of 20 x 3cl Perfect Measure samples tells the story of this transformation in the best way possible – by offering you the chance to taste some of the whiskies that made it happen.
20 Whiskies that Changed the World can serve as a delicious whisky cabinet that you dip into to enjoy whenever the mood takes you or as an educational whisky guide. The whiskies are grouped into a selection of four themes – Whisky Revolution, Magic of the Cask, Peat Makes the World Go Round and The New World – accompanied by a tasting book featuring producer profiles, tasting notes, and online tasting videos.
The whiskies are arranged in tasting order so you can either enjoy them at your leisure or taste them in four flights alongside the video guides.
In the 1980s, when my brother Rajbir and I were living above and working in The Nest, our parents’ off-licence in north-west London, the world of whisky was very different to the thriving, innovative industry we see today.
Whisky was always magical – to us, at least – but the new ideas, innovations, techniques and personalities who have graced the whisky stage so far this millennium have elevated the world of whisky to a new level. We hope people enjoy drinking these whiskies as much as we enjoyed choosing them.
– Sukhinder Singh: The Whisky Exchange Co-Founder

Discover A Different Dram From Jura This Father’s Day!
Jura Single Malt Whisky’s special edition bottle wraps make the perfect gift
Finding the perfect dram for dad just got easier this year thanks to Jura Single Malt Whisky, which has created two special edition bottles (complete with gift tag); each bringing the flavours in two classic Jura whiskies to life through beautifully illustrated gift wraps.
Gift buyers can discover the different sides of Jura’s Origin and Superstition expressions through striking visual tasting notes, helping uncover the subtle hints of flavour to be found in each drop.
Carefully sourced natural ingredients bring to life a range of light yet complex flavours to the Jura collection, and in Origin and Superstition, there’s something to suit all palates this Father’s Day:
· Jura Origin is aged in American White Oak ex-bourbon casks for 10 years, with notes of caramel, honey and soft liquorice. This signature liquid was born during the rebirth of the Jura Distillery in 1963 and marks the start of Jura’s long line of hand-crafted whiskies. With a light, delicate and warming honey finish, it’s the perfect accompaniment to good conversation and spending quality time with loved ones.
· Jura Superstition is lightly peated and matured in American White Oak ex-bourbon casks, resulting in a different flavour to explore in each drop. With hints of smoke, honey and pine, Superstition is the perfect accompaniment to a Father’s Day BBQ.
Quite often we’re familiar with the flavours that our loved ones like, but with lots of different options to choose from, selecting that special single malt for someone else can be a daunting task!
With no gift wrapping required, our new special edition Origin and Superstition bottles are not only a beautiful and convenient present but the illustrated tasting notes mean people can visually navigate the world of whisky through the unique flavours found in Jura. Choosing which one to buy is a pleasurable problem to have!
– Graham Logan: Jura Distillery Manager
Each pack will also include the chance to win a trip to discover the different sides of Jura for themselves on the unique island, nestled off the West Coast of Scotland. The opportunity to win a holiday and distillery visit for two is an added bonus for five lucky recipients who are fortunate enough to receive a special edition bottle of Jura this Father’s Day.
The special edition bottles are available to purchase now from independent stores and multiple retailers – RRP £35.
Waterford Crystal Launches New Whisky Collection Just In Time For Fathers Day!
Waterford is very excited to introduce their Lismore Connoisseur, a new range of specialty barware designed for the perfect enjoyment of whisky.
The collection includes tumblers and decanters, each handcrafted with beautiful cut crystal designs, and each created with a different whisky connoisseur in mind.
Waterford was first established in 1783 on land adjacent to Merchants’ Quay in the heart of the Irish harbour town of Waterford.
Its founders were two brothers, William and George Penrose, who were important developers and principal exporters in the city.
Their vision was to “create the finest quality crystal for drinking vessels and objects of beauty for the home.”
More than two hundred years later, the reputation established for creating glass of unsurpassed beauty and quality has transcended the intervening centuries.
The Straight Sided Tumbler is for the connoisseur who enjoys their whisky with a splash of water, a dash of soda or an ice cube or two. This tumbler features a universal shape wide enough for the liquor to breathe and perfect for all types of whisky / whiskey or bourbon.
The Rounded Tumbler allows the whisky connoisseur to enjoy a good swirl to appreciate the body and colour of the liquor and is ample enough to accommodate a spot of water or ice. The flared shape of this tumbler makes it extremely comfortable in and allows for a pleasant and “neat” swirling experience with any blended scotch whisky, Irish whiskey or bourbon.
The Flared Sipping Tumbler has a rounded bowl to comfortably warm and swirl the whisky, a pinched middle to concentrate the bouquet, and a flared opening that releases the nuanced nose notes. Crafted for the connoisseur who enjoys sipping their very finest single malt or aged-blend straight, it allows for the full experience of taste and aroma.
The Footed Tasting Tumbler is preferred by connoisseurs for tasting, sampling, sipping and scrupulous evaluation of a whisky’s attributes. It is fashioned with a unique tulip shape to gently allow warming liquor and with a narrower opening to concentrate the bouquet. This is the ultimate tasting tumbler for those who enjoy savouring their rarest single malts or pot blends.
The sophisticated Lismore Connoisseur collection gives a nod to the rising popularity of whisky today.
And just in time for Fathers Day!

Elijah Craig / 12-year-old / Small Batch Bourbon Country: American Region: American Age: 12 Years Old Strength: 47% Summary: Elijah Craig 12-Year-Old is a true Small Batch premium Bourbon, and had that distinction before the term even existed. Bottled exclusively from a dumping of 70 barrels or less, the brand carries the name of the Rev. Elijah Craig, the man who discovered the method of making true Kentucky Bourbon when he stored his wares in barrels that had been charred in a fire. Elijah Craig is critically acclaimed. It was awarded a “Double Gold Medal” at both the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and WSWA Tasting Competition, and whiskey expert and author Jim Murray calls it “unquestionably one of the great Bourbons.” It has twice been awarded “Best of the Best” from Whisky Magazine. |

Glenfarclas / 10 Year Old Single Malt Country: Scotland Region: Speyside Age: 10 Year Old Strength: 40% Summary: Colour: Vibrant straw-gold. Nose: Tempting sherry-sweet malty tones combine with delicate smokiness, releasing subtle spices. Warming the glass reveals honey, vanilla and pear drops. Flavour: Delicately light, with a mouth-watering combination of maltiness, smokiness and sherry sweetness. Hints of dried fruit, vanilla, cinnamon and cloves tempt the taste buds further. Finish: Long, smooth and spicy, with a delicious, yet delicate, lingering smokiness. Glenfarclas / One Family / Six Generations: Since 1865 Glenfarclas has been owned and managed by just one family, the Grants of Glenfarclas. On the 8th of June 1865 John Grant acquired the tenancy for the Rechlerich Farm and as part of the transaction purchased the Glenfarclas Distillery for £511.19S.0d. To this day Glenfarclas is one of only a few distilleries in Scotland to remain family owned and managed. Now in the hands of the fifth and sixth generation of the family, the Grants remain committed to the vision of creating the best quality Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky, in the traditional Speyside style. |

Glenfarclas / 105 Cask Strength Country: Scotland Region: Speyside Age: Strength: 60% Summary: Colour: Deep peaty-gold. Nose: Complex, oaky, apples and pears, and a tempting dark toffee sweetness. Flavour: Dry and assertive, develops quickly to reveal a rich spiciness, combined with a hint of oak and sherried fruit. Finish: Amazingly smooth for the strength; wonderfully warming and with a lingering smokiness, yet very rounded. Comment: A great whisky holding all the flavours of all the Glenfarclas in one glass. Being so warming, this is the perfect Hogmanay dram. Don’t be afraid of the strength and order a 210, if you dare! The smoothness makes the 105 drinkable at cask strength, but I suggest adding a little water to fully explore its great depth. Glenfarclas / 1994 Family Cask / Sherry Butt 2950 Country: Scotland Region: Speyside Age: 18 Year Old Strength: 57.9% Summary: Colour: Rich Amber. Nose: Rich sweet, malty almost like a chocoalte covered digestive. Some dried fruit present, sultanas and raisins. Flavour: 1994 is a fantastic vintage for Glenfarclas. This dram although not as sweet on the palate as on the nose, has dry coffee bitterness, rich dark chocolate also very much present. Finish: One of the longest finishies I have ever experienced in a whisky. A truly moreish whisky (you will have more!). Glenfarclas / One Family / Six Generations: Since 1865 Glenfarclas has been owned and managed by just one family, the Grants of Glenfarclas.
