Summary: Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky Ever improving since its initial rocky days this Arran 10yo is now a solid and clean coastal dram. Lighter than some other islanders it shows wonderful notes of vanilla light spice soft salty citrus notes and a mature creaminess. Very drammable.

Summary: 70cl / 46% / Distillery Bottling – Arran 10 year old is a medium-bodied, citrussy dram that shows an elegance and deftness of touch that belies the distillery's year olduth. Tasting the complexity and assurance of this year oldungster it is difficult to believe that the distillery only opened in 1995. A great achievement.

Summary: Contains one bottle of Arran 10 Year Old and two nosing glasses. Colour: Ripe Golden Barley Aroma: The initial rush of rich vanilla sweetness gives way to the fruits of slow distillation – kiwi, banana, cantaloupe melon – with just a dusting of cocoa powder. It is undoubtedly complex and yet the aromas are in complete harmony with the malt. Palate: A touch of cinnamon adds a spicy edge to the soft and sweet texture which captivates the palate. The classic Arran citrus notes have rounded with age and reveal new depths of character against a background of sweet oak. Finish: It drifts over the tongue like golden syrup and fades ever so slowly to tempt another sip. This is a beautifully made whisky. Arran has come a long way in 10 years. Truly the best things in life are always worth waiting for!

Summary: Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky One of Arrans new more permanent finishes that is designed to flesh out their core range as it settles down for the next few years. This is one of the better finishes they have come out with in recent times. Sweet fruity nutty and nicely balanced with the spirit.

Palate: Layered fruits and spice combine with cinnamon baked apple wrestling with raisin and plum pudding. The dram opens out to reveal warming barley and a hint of sweet pear. Finish: A classic Single Malt with punch that dances on the palate. The trademark Arran barley-sweetness shines through the layers of complexity. Each sip reveals new depths.

Summary: Machrie Moor second edition. Batch 2 is a limited edition peated (14ppm) expression of Aran single malt release of 12,000 bottles. The bottle depicts Bran, favourite dog of the legendary warrior Fingal who is said to have tethered the dog to the standing stone Fingal’s Cauldron Seat. One of the many stone circles and standing stones that are strewn across Machrie Moor on the Isle of Arran. Arran  The Arran malt whisky distillery was commissioned by the Isle of Arran Distillers in 1995 to produce a range of Arran single malt whiskies and Arran blended scotch. Situated just south of Lochranza, on the northern tip of the Isle of Arran off the west coast of Scotland. Since the last legal working distillery on the island closed in 1836 this new one is a very welcome addition to Scotland’s island whisky region. Set in a stunning location between mountains and sea this small distillery is equipped with two stills, dunnage warehouses, a visitor centre offering distillery tours and a distillery café. Arran malt whisky is matured in sherry, bourbon, port and wine casks in order to produce and an ever-evolving and expanding range of whiskies. The Sleeping Warrior release comprises Arran single malt whisky matured in both European and American oak casks.  Nose: Stormy beach – sublte notes of apple. Palate: Classic Arran notes of apple and vanilla, back by iodine, parma violets and smoky citrus. Add water to find briny rockpools and fresh dulse mixing with orchard fruits. Finish: Saltiness is more apparent with a twist of spice mingling alongside baked apples and honeysuckle.
