Summary: Single 1st fill Port barrique. Distilled 2003, bottled 2010. "A string quartet of flavours" Penderyn (Wales) Located in the Brecon Beacons National Park and the only distillery in Wales. No malting, milling, mashing or fermenting here since the wash is tankered in once a week from a Cardiff brewery. The malt wash is mixed with water drawn from an aquifer beneath the distillery and filled into the single still which is a pot still with a rectifying column. Local water is also used to reduce the strength of the whisky in the bottling centre at the distillery. New spirit is filled into bourbon, Madeira, sherry and peated and unpeated whisky casks. Maturation is considered to progress more quickly than with many other whiskies. The first whisky went on sale in 2004. No tasting notes at present.
