ABV: 50.6% Cask Reference Number: DH10250 Clan Denny proudly holds specialist, rare and aged Single Grain Scotch Whiskies. As the distiller intended, it's bottled at cask strength and without colouring or chill filtration, affording the Whisky a rich, oily quality that's not unlike dessert wine. This particular Single Grain Clan Denny, aged for 26 years in North American oak casks, comes from the Invergordon Distillery in the Scottish Highlands. Opens sweetly on the nose, carrying an attractive honey and vanilla character which develops to a fragrant hairdresser's style. The palate is clean and remains sweet, candy style, before running to vanilla and soft spices. Nose: honeycomb on speed: sharp, toasty, crispy sweet; lime on vanilla ice cream; Taste: although the oak has dug in and makes an early impact, the spreading of what appears to be soft corn oils helps the ever-intensifying sugars to see off the underlying toastiness; Finish: the sugars are now crystalline and persistent; Balance: astonishingly invigorating.
