Benromach was founded in 1898 and had a succession of owners as well as long periods of closure until the distillery started producing again in 1992. Today it is the smallest working distillery in Speyside, employing just TWO people to make its whisky! Their current output is just 200,000 litres per year.
The distillery is owned by independent bottlers Gordon & Macphail, who bought it in 1993, ten years after it had been mothballed by previous owners United Distillers (later to become Diageo). The whisky has a full flavoured, medium-bodied, floral and malty palate.
