Glenfarclas

The Glenfarclas Distillery was legally established in 1836 on the Recherlich Farm at Ballindalloch in the heart of Speyside and is one of the few to have remained in private ownership since it was founded by Robert Hay.
In 1865 John Grant purchased the distillery for £511.19s.0d and whisky has now been distilled there for six generations by the Grant family. Since then Glenfarclas has won many awards including: Distiller of the Year by Whisky Magazine in 2006. Glenfarclas 12 Years Old named Best Sherried Whisky in the 2006 Single Malt World Cup. Glenfarclas 30 Years Old was declared the overall winner of the Australian Malt Whisky Awards in 2004 and the Glenfarclas limited edition 1968 expression was named ‘Best Imported Whisky in the USA’ by the Malt Advocate Magazine in 2004.
