Malt Tasting: Springbank 19 Year Old Cask 482 - Single Cask (Master of Malt)

Malt Tasting: Springbank 19 Year Old Cask 482 – Single Cask (Master of Malt)

Sprongbank is always a popular, much sought after malt and this amazing taste experience from the Chaps at Master of Malt will be no exception!

Springbank is a rare breed in the world of Scottish distilleries.

It is still family owned and they still perform every step in the whisky making process, including bottling their own malts.

Springbank 19 Year Old Cask 482:-
Distilled: November 1993 (refill hogshead.)
Drawn: 27th November 2012.
Number of bottles: 250.

Tasting Notes

Springbank 19 Year Old Cask 482
Single Cask
(Master of Malt)
Nose: Sherried, bourbony flavours coupled with charred wood.

Palate: Strong smokey peat, caramel dessert wrapped up in lovely sweetness.

Finish: Surprisingly sweet with lots of flavoursome spice.

Overall: A complex dram. You think it’s going to be heavily smokey and peated but it suddenly gives way to honeyed sweetness with a whole gamut of flavours inbetween. An extraordinary malt!

Many thanks to Master Of Malt for this sample.

Malt Tasting: Springbank 19 Year Old Cask 129 – Single Cask (Master of Malt)

Springbank 19 Year Old Cask 129 - Single Cask (Master of Malt)

Springbank 19 Year Old Cask 129 – Single Cask (Master of Malt)

What were you doing on 7th May 1993?

Or for that matter 27th November 2012?

Well, the Springbank guys were distilling cask 129 on the former date and filling 221 bottles of the glorious stuff on the latter date.

So, as I sit here on this very windy and rainy night sampling this malt I was hoping I wouldn’t be disappointed.

I needn’t have worried, I can’t think of a better way to see a stormy night thru!

It’s part of Master of Malt’s own Single Cask range and offers exceptional malts at very acceptable prices.
