Isle Of Jura – 1977 Vintage Country: Scotland Region: IsleofJura Age: Strength: 46% Summary: This uniquely crafted 1977 vintage takes its name from the Gaelic word for the Yew tree. Translated as ‘Juar’, the yew tree has long been associated with immortality and regeneration. Some believe it brings access to the ‘otherworld’. MATURED TO PERFECTION: Filled to cask in 1977, this vintage release was originally matured in three first fill bourbon casks before being finished in a ruby port pipe for 12 months. It has absorbed the character and colour that only comes with careful aging. TASTING NOTES Colour: Warm amber. Nose: Subtle notes of Peach Melba, creamy caramel, ripe sweet pineapple and maple syrup. Taste: Prolonged sensations of crushed pear, passion fruit, kiwi and sweet apricots. CRAFTED BY HAND: The 1977 vintage is presented in solid oak box hand crafted by Scottish based cabinet maker, John Galvin. John has hand carved all 498 boxes individually; each is a testament to his experience and dedication to craft. Jura are proud to collaborate with someone who takes craft as seriously as they do. |

Isle Of Jura – 30 Year Old Camas An Staca Country: Scotland Region: IsleofJura Age: 30 Year Old. Strength: 44% Summary: This monumental 30 year old takes its name from Jura’s largest standing stone, the Camas an Staca. This is the latest rare and vintage malt to have been nurtured and crafted at the Jura distillery. It is a unique result of pure spring water, clean fresh air and generations of tradition. A MONUMENTAL MALT: 27 long years in American white oak and a final three in the finest amorosso sherry casks from Gonzalez Byass, have crafted a masterpiece – a malt that will truly stand the test of time, much like the Camas an Staca itself. TASTING NOTES Colour: Dark walnut. Nose: Whispers of sea spray, spicy apple and honeyed figs linger in the background. Taste: Fleshy oranges, tangy liquorice and sweet pineapple are followed by orange rind, black cherries, dark toffee and sun dried raisins. EXQUISITE PACKAGING: The iconic Jura bottle is encased in a beautiful box that opens its doors to reveal the story of the whisky and the history of the Camas an Staca. Meticulously detailed, the bottle has a simplicity and dignity that befits the great stone itself – an approach that culminates in the creation of an elegant motif that captures the scale and grandeur of Jura’s largest standing stone. |
