Tamnavulin Launches Sherry Cask Edition Single Malt!

May 4, 2019 by Gary Leave a Comment

Their Latest release aims to open up the world of Sherry Finished Whiskies

Speyside’s Tamnavulin Distillery has revealed its latest Single Malt, the ‘Tamnavulin Sherry Cask Edition’.

The newly released Sherry Cask Edition shows the classic character of the Speyside distillery and its continued union with Sherry. It is matured in American White Oak Barrels and enhanced by a finesse in three different types of Oloroso Sherry casks created from a selection of the finest European and American Hogsheads.

Tamnavulin is now a £7million brand in UK grocery

The team behind the popular Single Malt expertly sourced casks from three individual cooperages across Spain. Each cooperage selected for its ability to gift different flavours to this single malt and bring to life the quintessential Sherry notes of raisin, vanilla and orange.

This three Sherry cask finish is warm & inviting, with exotic flavours of glazed nectarines and frangipane with a complex finish of fruit cake and over ripe apricots. Partnered with the signature sweet, smooth and mellow profile of Tamnavulin.

Joining Tamnavulin Double Cask, the Sherry Cask Edition offers richness, intensity and complexity. With an accessible fruity profile the new release gives shoppers the opportunity delve into the world of Sherry finished single malt without breaking the bank.

In store now in an exclusive 1L format for Tesco consumers RSP £45, a 70cl version RSP £32 will be available to multiple grocers nationwide in the second half of 2019.

The Speyside Single Malt brand was brought back to life in 2016 to offer a compelling single malt proposition to price conscious consumers looking for a credible, quality alternative to blends and a solution to those looking to explore the malt category. Since then, it has fast developed a reputation as a premium, trusted brand which is demanding consumer and trade attention alike.

Proven by double digit growth which has seen the brand grow from strength to strength at +33% volume YOY[1]. Tamnavulin is now a £7million brand in UK grocery, and proudly the number 6 malt and the number two contributor to UK Malt category growth.

The good news story is not only one of the UK, its success is fuelling interest in the opportunity it offers other markets. As a result, the brand is available in more than ten markets including France, Belgium, Netherlands, Russia and Taiwan and collectively now represent more than 8k distribution points internationally including 2 large online retail partners.

The figures are testament to the quality of the single malt and demand for single malts at a price conscious RSP which is fuelling repeat purchase and recruitment of new blended Scotch shoppers into malts.
