![]() Ardbeg / 25 Year Old The Duchess Puffin Release. £650.00 Country: Scotland Region: Islay Age: Strength: 50.1%. Summary: COUNTRY/REGION: Scotland/Islay. CATEGORY: Single Malt. DISTILLERY: Ardbeg. BOTTLER: The Duchess. BOTTLING SERIE: The Puffin. AGE: 25 Year Old. BOTTLED: 2020 CASK TYPE: Sherry Cask Finish. NUMBER OF BOTTLES: ABV: 50.1% Vol. Now this is a whisky you just need to sit down with to savour every moment. It's got everything that an Ardbeg should have, maybe even a little extra… NOSE: A beautiful balance between peat and fruit, with lots of tropical fruits, as well as some nice tones of vanilla and even some caramels. It just keeps developing into more peatiness. TASTE: What an amazingly balanced dram this is. Creamy with — once again — this beautiful peatiness. It needs some time to open up, but when it does, fruits and vanilla break through marvellously. FINISH: The peatiness keeps lingering, but is extremely well balanced with the hints of fruit. It even develops into a liquorice kind of note. An absolutely stunning Ardbeg, that is balanced to near-perfection. |

NUMBER OF BOTTLES: 1620 ABV: 54.9% Befitting of Bunnahabhain’s individuality, is our Senior Blender’s choice of Sherry Cask for this latest Limited Release. Palo Cortado Sherry is shrouded in myth and mystery. Almost all casks of this rare sherry varietal are laid down as Fino or Amontilado sherries. A natural phenomenon which occurs during maturation, causes the liquid to oxidise and age as an Oloroso sherry instead. This inexplicable twist of fate, can only be identified by the best Cellar Masters, and only impacts 1-2% of all sherries, making these casks all the more special. This exquisite Bunnahabhain was first distilled and matured in 1997. Just like the expert Cellar Masters of the ‘Sherry Triangle’ in Spain, our Distillery Manager and Senior Blender identify the most special whiskies for finishing in the most special casks. It is with this expertise that this Bunnahabhain Single Malt was transferred to these extraordinary Palo Cortado casks, resulting in a deliciously sweet and nutty dram. COLOUR: Deep Amber Gold. NOSE: Fresh berries & cream, pecan & walnuts, rich oak with vanilla, hints of dried fruit PALATE: Mouth coating, sweet dried fruit, rich oak, roasted nuts, subtle hints of cocoa FINISH: Slightly dry finish with hints of nutmeg. |
