Bottler: Distillery Bottling. Series: Rare Malts Selection. Age: 27 Year Old. Distilled: 1975. Description: Full bronze in colour. Medium to full bodied. Creamy. ![]() Glenmorangie / Ealanta £285.00 Country: Scotland Region: Highland Age: Strength: 45.% 70cl Summary: Country/Region: Scotland/Highland. ABV: 45% Unit: 70cl Age: 19 Year Old. Cask Type: Virgin American white oak. Distilled/Bottled: 1993/2012 Glenmorangie Ealanta is the fourth annual release in our award winning Private Edition range. The porous oak wood, air-dried for over 2 years, but in this instance never seasoned with any other whisky, allows our precious spirit to extract maximum flavours as nature intended – producing a whisky of incredible taste and smoothness, with layers of vanilla and candied orange peel, interwoven with sugar coated almonds. Non chill-filtered Aroma: Toffee, butterscotch, vanilla, and a curious hint of stewed fruits. Classic Glenmorangie mentholic top-note, interwoven with an unusual nuttiness, reminiscent of Brazil nuts in toffee. Taste: Candied orange peel, sugar coated almonds, sweet vanilla and marzipan. Finish: The taste goes on and on, finally giving way to some oak-derived spices – clove, ginger and a hint of aniseed. ![]() Macallan / Reflexion £899.00 Country: Scotland Region: Speyside Age: Strength: 43.% 70cl Summary: Country/Region: Scotland/Speyside. Unit: 70cl ABV: 43% The Macallan REFLEXION represents the natural colour and beauty of The Macallan – a true reflection of the foremost influence of first fill sherry seasoned oak casks. This exceptional single malt has drawn its colour and flavour from maturation in smaller hogshead casks allowing a greater surface area of wood to interact with the whisky to deliver an intricate character driven by the influence of both Spanish and American oak casks. A deep red mahogany hue, taken directly from the cask, is beautifully enhanced by the angular facets of the carefully crafted decanter. The depth of colour coupled with the complex flavour of REFLEXION, derive from the casks selected for this distinctive expression by The Macallan’s Master Whisky Maker, Bob Dalgarno. Bold and full-bodied, REFLEXION is a celebration of floral and vanilla notes, punctuated with fresh apples and apricots. Nose: Orange and citrus fruits open up like fresh fruit on a sunny market day. Their zest is fresh, the fruit is firm. A slight waxy note fades to fresh green apples. Then the sweet stall: chocolate, thick fudge, boiled sweets, aniseed; caramel toffees almost overwhelm whilst white chocolate truffles are hidden. Just as you are ready to taste, a delivery of bananas in fresh, sweet oak arrives. Palate: Initial light citrus zest with new oak quickly gives way to a juicier sweetness, thick and succulent, of lemon and orange. Raisin, sultana and apple, with a hint of cinnamon and ginger, are subtle. Finish: Boiled sweets add balance to a glimpse of toasted oak to give a medium and soft finish.
