![]() Buffalo Trace / Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey £23.95 Country: American Region: American Age: Strength: 40.% 70cl Summary: Country/Region: USA/Kentucky. Unit: 70cl. ABV: 40%. Ancient buffalo carved paths through the wilderness that led America's first pioneers and explorers westward. One such trail led to the banks of the Kentucky River where Buffalo Trace Distillery has been making bourbon whiskey the same way for more than 200 years. In tribute to the mighty buffalo and the rugged, independent spirit of the pioneers who followed them westward, we created our signature Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Tasting Notes: This deep amber whiskey has a complex aroma of vanilla, mint and molasses. Pleasantly sweet to the taste with notes of brown sugar and spice that give way to oak, toffee, dark fruit and anise. This whiskey finishes long and smooth with serious depth. Ratings: Double Gold Medal / 2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. |
![]() Colonel EH Taylor / Single Barrel Bourbon £105.00 Country: American Region: American Age: Strength: 50.% 75cl Summary: Country/Region: USA/Kentucky. ABV: 50%. Unit: 75cl. Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. is widely considered one of the founding fathers of the bourbon industry, fighting for the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, nearly three decades after he purchased what is now called Buffalo Trace Distillery. During his time, Taylor implemented several innovative methods still used today, including climate controlled aging warehouses. E.H. Taylor Single Barrel is aged exclusively in Warehouse C, which was built by Taylor in 1881 and proven to be an excellent aging warehouse. Each barrel is hand-picked and Bottled in Bond at 100 proof to honour its namesake. Tasting Notes: The aroma carries lightly toasted oak, with dried figs and butterscotch. One sip brings flavours of sweetness balanced with tobacco and dark spices. The finish is just long enough to prepare the palette for another sip. The bottle itself is a likeness to Colonel Taylor's original design used over a century ago. Ratings: Double Gold Medal / 2015 Sanfrancisco World Spirits Competition. |

![]() Redbreast / 12 Year Old Single Pot Still Whiskey £40.00 Country: Scotland Region: Age: Strength: 40.% 70cl Summary: Country: Ireland. ABV: 40%. Unit: 70cl. One of the most decorated Irish whiskeys, Redbreast is the largest selling Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey in the world. Regarded as the definitive expression of traditional Single Pot Still whiskey, the genesis of Redbreast dates back to 1903 when John Jameson & Son entered into an agreement with the Gilbeys Wines & Spirits Import Company to supply them with new make spirit from their Bow St. Distillery. The custom of that era was that distillers sold bulk whiskey to ‘bonders’ who, being in the business of importing fortified wines such as sherry and port, had ample supplies of empty casks in which to mature new make whiskeys under bond. Single Pot Still whiskey is unique to Ireland in general and to the Midleton Distillery, Co. Cork, in particular, and is regarded as the quintessential style of Irish whiskey. Made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley and then triple distilled in traditional copper pot stills, Pot Still whiskeys are characterised by full, complex flavours and a wonderful creamy mouthfeel. Nose: A complex spicy and fruity aroma with toasted wood; Taste: Full flavoured and complex; a harmonious balance of spicy, creamy, fruity, sherry and toasted notes; Finish: Satisfyingly long, the complex flavours linger on the palate; Press: "Redbreast is the secret restaurant tucked away in the back of the strip mall that only a handful of people know about. The atmosphere is great and the food divine, but no one is sure that they should tell other people about it because either it'll become too crowded (and thus will be impossible to get a table) or the increased production by the staff in the back will affect the overall quality of the place". – Kate Hopkins, 99 Drams Of Whiskey. Ratings: Double Gold Medal / 2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. |
![]() Yellow Spot / 12 Year Old Single Pot Still Whiskey £58.85 Country: Scotland Region: Age: Strength: 46.% 70cl Summary: Country: Ireland. ABV: 46%. Unit: 70cl. Yellow Spot whiskey was last seen in Ireland in the mid to late 1960s. Inspired by the original, Yellow Spot is the rare taste of a bonder’s style Pot Still Irish whiskey. Maturation in Bourbon barrels, Sherry butts and Malaga casks creates a superbly complex whiskey with fresh and sweet top notes. Nose: Mown hay & cracked black pepper. Red bell peppers, nutmeg, clove oil & green tea. Sweet honey & peaches from the Malaga casks; Taste: honey sweetness with pot still spices. Flavours of fresh coffee, creamy milk chocolate & Crème Brûlée. Notes of red apples & toasted oak; Finish: Sophisticated & complex. Sweetness throughout, with a mix of red grape & dry barley upon exit; Ratings: Double Gold Medal / 2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. |

![]() Green Spot Château Léoville Barton Edition £50.00 Country: Scotland Region: Age: Strength: 46.% 70cl Summary: Country: Ireland. ABV: 46%. Unit: 70cl. Green Spot Château Léoville Barton is the latest edition to the Spot whiskey family. This whiskey represents the coming together of two historic families, two stories of Irish endeavour and enterprise who together are the inspiration for this special edition whiskey. Initially matured in a traditional mix of ex-Oloroso sherry, new Bourbon and ex-Bourbon barrels the whiskeys were then transferred into the ex-Bordeaux wine casks for between 12 and 24 months. This imparted distinctive, floral flavours of varying intensity, resulting in a perfectly balanced whiskey. Celebrating an Irish heritage, the collaboration between Green Spot and Château Léoville Barton is not just the coming together of two unique stories, it is the fusion of two unique histories that as one deliver an exceptional whiskey. Nose: It is the contribution of the French oak which drives the initial aroma adding some crisp woodland notes to the spicy Single Pot Still character. The wine seasoning brings a delicate touch of floral perfume and a hint of ripe berries such as raspberries and strawberries, these are in addition to the orchard fruits typical of Green Spot. Taste: The familiar mouth coating effect is a very satisfying balance of oak and spices. Some vanilla sweetness works in harmony with the dry wine influence, while the fresh orchard fruits and French oak combine effortlessly with barley grains to complete the complexity. Finish: The rich French oak character is slow to fade leaving the wine and spices of France and Ireland with the last word. Awards: World's 2016 Best Single Pot Whiskey. |

Unit: 70cl ABV: 46.8% Age: 26 Year Old. GLENTURRET DISTILLERY was licensed in 1775 but had been distilling illicitly since 1717 and can therefore claim to be THE OLDEST DISTILLERY IN SCOTLAND. In keeping with this long history the distillery retains some unique traditions, mashing grist by hand and slowly fermenting the wort in wooden washbacks, for twice as long as other distilleries, to produce an extraordinarily smooth and fruity spirit. The middle cut of the spirit is selected by hand not by computer as it is in other distilleries. Having worked closely with the Edrington Group, Hunter Laing & Co. Ltd is pleased to offer this exclusive limited-release of Glenturret 26 years old single Highland Malt whisky. Bottled at natural cask-strength and without chill-filtration or artificial colouring, this small-batch release is a wonderful example of this small, artisanal distillery’s production. Matured in refill-bourbon casks specially selected from the distillery’s own stocks by its Master Blender, the whisky has a velvety palate with toffee notes and a vanilla sweetness combined with the unmistakeable fruitiness of ripe pineapples. Limited to 2400 bottles worldwide and presented in a wooden gift box with accompanying certificate, this officially-licenced bottling of Glenturret 26 years old is available exclusively to partners of Hunter Laing & Co Ltd. Colour: Golden to dark straw in colour, its tint speaks clearly of its long maturation in North American oak; Nose: The whisky is wonderfully complex on the nose with sweet, fruity notes such as toffee apples combining with strong confectionery elements including milk chocolate & caramel along with toffee popcorn & fragrant woody notes including sandalwood & furniture polish. With the addition of some water it then becomes a little briny & musty; Taste: On the palate, this Glenturret remains sweet with sherbet, some gentle spice and toffee notes. The caramel and golden syrup notes carry across from the nose to the palate and combine with an appealing vanilla sweetness; Finish: The finish is medium to long, with caramel and ginger spice lingering on the palate. |

Unit: 70cl ABV: 43% The Macallan REFLEXION represents the natural colour and beauty of The Macallan – a true reflection of the foremost influence of first fill sherry seasoned oak casks. This exceptional single malt has drawn its colour and flavour from maturation in smaller hogshead casks allowing a greater surface area of wood to interact with the whisky to deliver an intricate character driven by the influence of both Spanish and American oak casks. A deep red mahogany hue, taken directly from the cask, is beautifully enhanced by the angular facets of the carefully crafted decanter. The depth of colour coupled with the complex flavour of REFLEXION, derive from the casks selected for this distinctive expression by The Macallan’s Master Whisky Maker, Bob Dalgarno. Bold and full-bodied, REFLEXION is a celebration of floral and vanilla notes, punctuated with fresh apples and apricots. Nose: Orange and citrus fruits open up like fresh fruit on a sunny market day. ![]() Penderyn / Port Wood Single Cask £295.00 Country: Scotland Region: Wales Age: Strength: 59.% 70cl Summary: Country/Region: Wales. Unit: 70cl. ABV: 59%. Penderyn have announced the release of their popular Port Wood finish whisky in a single cask edition. Only 231 bottles of the Port Wood-matured Single Cask will be produced, and because the bottles contain whisky from specially selected cask No. PT72, their unique characteristics will remain distinctive and unmatched. The whisky is bottled at a cask strength of 59% and is presented in a handmade American Oak box. Each bottle is hand labelled, numbered and individually signed by our director, Sian Whitelock. The bottle and box are finished in a cream stencilling. Tasting Notes: The rich ruby red colour of this Penderyn port cask matured whisky does not disappoint! The initial nose is one of rich port and fresh red berry fruits. Soon spiciness and fresh oak chime in. The overall effect is both complex and intensely fruity. In the mouth this whisky is both very sweet and mouth drying at the same time while revealing a rich ruby port flavour. Smooth and easy to drink yet we recommend sipping it gently to enjoy its complexity and port flavour. Few port wood matured whiskies are as intense as this one. It leaves a long lingering finish rich in fruit, vanilla and milk chocolate. Savour the moment! Ratings: 96.5 Points / Jim Murray's 2016 Whisky Bible. |
