A natural cask strength single grain Scotch Whisky from Port Dundas, a historic grain distillery that closed in 2009. From refill American Oak hogsheads filled in 1964, Port Dundas is an example of very old grain, with a hugely fruity centre. It's astonishingly rich and complex for a grain whisky, and might be mistaken for a classy bourbon on the nose and in the mouth.
APPEARANCE: Rose gold – simply exquisite.
NOSE: Rich butterscotch leads quickly into pastry and masses of sweet, with a top note of fruit chews on a base of fruit salad in syrup. This folds into classic vanilla toffee and planed oak as a more savoury and meaty note develops, adding an umami richness, while everything remains fresh.
BODY: Light to medium with some oiliness.
PALATE: Creamy in texture and lightly sweet, with honey and golden syrup. Some dried fruit is succeeded by a decadent fruit salad of wine gums balanced by fresh fruits. Spice builds as the fruit fades, with freshly sawn oak and cinnamon.
FINISH: Long, warming and oaky.

In 2015, to celebrate its 200th anniversary, Laphroaig launched a 32 Year Old exclusive – the highest aged whisky it had released in over 8 years. In 2016, Laphroaig 30 Year Old was launched and in 2017 the 27 Year Old Double Matured Laphroaig continues this series. The entire range is presented in white wooden boxes with hand carved images of the distillery inside.
To make this exquisite liquid, mature Laphroaig previously aged in refill hogsheads was transferred into first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and refill quarter casks. Patiently aged in Laphroaig’s famous Warehouse No. 1, these casks were then hand selected for a final maturation. This rare whisky features a touch of Laphroaig’s trademark peat smoke tempered by lime and sea salt. Each and every sip will be well worth the wait.
