You know the people of Nantwich in Cheshire are a fortunate lot.
Not just because Nantwich is a fine town, which it is, in fact it’s a very fine town.
No, it’s because the good people of Nantwich can also pop into Edencroft Fine Wine & Spirit Specialists for a browse whenever the fancy takes them.
Lucky them!
But fear not, Edencroft also has a thriving online presence so even if you’re in John O’ Groats or Lands End you too can take advantage of some very nice malt whisky offers that they have on right now.
In alphabetical (well, sort of) order we have:-
Caol Ila Distiller’s Edition CAOL ILA DISTILLERS EDITION has taken the top Single Malt Scotch Whisky honours at The San Francisco World Spirits Competition, whose results were announced on 28 March. After three days of judging, it was awarded the accolade of “Best Single Malt Scotch Whisky”. This stylish, richly flavoured and complex expression of Caol Ila has – after many years maturation in oak casks – been double-matured in dark Moscatel caskwood, hand-selected to complement the whisky’s sweetly fruity, smoky intensity. This expression is not new to expert praise. It won Gold – Best in Class at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in 2009, Gold at the International Spirits Challenge in 2009 and 2010, and Gold at the Scotch Whisky Masters in 2010. |

Glenfiddich Rich Oak Glenfiddich Rich Oak is a completely unique single malt, delicately finished for up to 12 weeks in brand new American and new Spanish oak casks after being patiently matured for 14 years. Their use of untouched Spanish oak casks is a first for the single malt Scotch whisky. Alive with flavour, these new casks need precision handling by our Malt Master to deliver just the right amount of extra flavours; creamy vanilla, a soft toffee sweetness and spicy oak with layers of ripe summer fruit, creating a rich and complex single malt. |

Talisker 57º North Flask Set Talisker embodies all the spirit of this rocky, storm-lashed island of Skye and its strong, steadfast people. Talisker is Skye’s only distillery but like the men of the island the malt has character enough for ten. “Famously distinctive Island malt. From the western Scottish island of Skye. I believe that the volcanic rock of Skye contributes to the pungent aroma; peppery flavour; and big finish. Unusual still design may add a further dimension.” Michael Jackson, whisky writer and expert. APPEARANCE: Full gold. NOSE: Clean and intense, with light smoke like a struck match. Creamy toffee balanced by fruit. Hints of seaweed, heather blossom and vanilla. BODY: Explosive, intense and smokey. PALATE: Sweet to start with smoke and tar exploding around the middle. At full strength and explosion that evokes the raw volcanic power that formed Skye’s famous Black Cuillin mountains. FINISH: Tingling with the signature pepperiness. |
But as you’ve certainly heard before, good things don’t last for long. So unless you fancy a drive I’d get keyboard tapping!
