The Whisky Exchange WHISKY SHOW 2011

The Whisky Exchange WHISKY SHOW 2011

The Whisky Exchange is taking whisky shows forward with a new premium whisky tasting event. Their 2011 offering titled, quite aptly, The Whisky Exchange Whisky Show is to be held on Friday 7th. & Saturday 8th. October 2011 at Vinopolis, 1 Bank End, SE1, London.

This is very handy as they also have a permanenet retail shop there so if you want to stock up on those items that particularly caught your taste bud fancy you can!

They will be focusing on the premium whiskies in each exhibitor’s portfolios. This year, they have also introduced a couple of changes including the Ultra-Premium Dram and an expanded Food-Pairing area to enhance visitors enjoyment of the Show still further.

How the Ultra-Premium Dram concept works is that on arrival, all visitors will receive TWO Dream Dram tokens which can be exchanged for some of the greatest whiskies from the exhibitors’ ranges. You will also be able to buy additional Bonus Dream Dram tokens.

Following the massive success of last year’s Food-Pairing room at The Whisky Show this has been expanded to the Food-Pairing area in Vinopolis’s beautiful Academia room. This is a great space to feature innovative food matches designed by whisky & food expert Martine Nouet, using produce from Borough Market.

Don’t forget, at The Whisky Exchange Whisky Show all exhibited samples are free with their all-inclusive ticket. In addition, each visitor will receive a hearty two-course meal in the Show Brasserie and can sample delicious cocktails and all the lip-smacking food pairings completely free of charge.

If that wasn’t enough, they will be once again staging exclusive Masterclasses. Some of the best ever in the UK, with themed tastings and amazing old bottlings alongside some of the rarest and most expensive whiskies from several blue-chip distilleries. (Tickets for Masterclasses will go on sale nearer the event.)

Exhibitors for The Whisky Show 2011 include: Ardbeg, Benriach, Glendronach, Bunnahabhain, Tobemory, Aberlour, Glenlivet, Dalmore, Whyte & Mackay, Glenglassaugh, Glengoyne, Glenmorangie, Glenrothes, Highland Park, Laphroaig, Kilchoman, Macallan and Compass Box with more to be added!

That’s quite a list and an awful lot of tasting!

So, be good, take plenty of breaks from the strenous job of malt tasting, drink plenty of water, eat before, during and probably after the show or you might find yourself flagging a bit.

And if you can’t wait (and to be honest October is quite a way off yet) you can check out all the malts that will be on offer from The Whisky Exchange.

What: The Whisky Exchange Whisky Show 2011
When: Friday 7th. & Saturday 8th. October 2011
Where: Vinopolis, 1 Bank End, SE1, London
