Summary: Chivas Regal has joined forces once again with French fashion designer Christian Lacroix to create a lavish limited edition bottle.
Following the success of the award-winning Chivas 12 Year Old Magnum by Christian Lacroix last year, the two international luxury brands – flamboyant fashion designer Christian Lacroix and ultra premium Scotch whisky Chivas Regal – have extended their exclusive partnership, unveiling Chivas 18 Year Old by Christian Lacroix.
Lacroix has delivered a lavish and sophisticated design for the bottle that is perfectly coupled by the bespoke mirrored presentation box, resembling an ancient relic of regal nature. It is a true gem for collectors.
The whisky bottle, label, capsule and presentation box are embellished in a rich tapestry, embroidered and bejeweled, yet still instantly recognizable as the Chivas Regal brand.
The intricate and finely detailed jacquard fabric, interwoven with metallic threads and diamante stones, created by one of the designer’s regular suppliers, is hand applied to the capsule, bottle and box.
Again the bottle features the metallic decoration that was developed for the Chivas 12 Year Old Magnum, but this time the technology as been challenged even further in order to extend it over the curved shoulders of the bottle. These decorative effects, applied in the colour of the whisky onto a premium silver surface, use precision laser technology to deposit thin metal-film features onto the glass substrate.
Chivas Regal global brand director James Slack, said “Christian Lacroix has produced something magnificent in the new Chivas Regal 18 Year Old Limited Edition – a design that perfectly combines the luxury of haute couture and the craftsmanship of luxury Scotch whisky. What we are presented with, is not simply a bottle of whisky, but a crafted collector’s piece. We feel privileged to have worked with Christian Lacroix yet again and are proud to include such an extraordinary limited edition to the Chivas Regal range.”
Chivas Regal 18 Year Old by Christian Lacroix will be released as a limited edition with only 3,000 bottles available internationally and will be available from the travel retail price of US$495.00.
Precision laser technology is used to deposit thin metal-film features onto the glass substrate About Chivas Regal Chivas Brothers is the Scotch whisky and premium gin business of Pernod Ricard – the world’s co-leader in wine and spirits. Chivas Brothers is the global leader in luxury Scotch whisky and premium gin. Its portfolio includes Chivas Regal, Ballantine’s, Beefeater Gin, The Glenlivet, Royal Salute, Aberlour, Plymouth Gin, Longmorn, Scapa, 100 Pipers, Clan Campbell, Something Special and Passport. About the House of Christian Lacroix Since its inception in 1987, the House of Christian Lacroix has electrified the fashion world with its collections inspired by Gypsy and Provençal traditions, and by the flamboyant Haute Couture scene in Paris and London during the “Swinging 60's.”

Glenmorangie Ealanta is the fourth annual release in our award winning Private Edition range. Scots Gaelic for 'skilled and ingenious', Ealanta is a 19 Years Old Glenmorangie, fully matured in virgin American white oak casks with a provenance that stretches all the way to the mountains of Missouri and the Mark Twain National Forest. The porous oak wood, air-dried for over 2 years, but in this instance never seasoned with any other whisky, allows our precious spirit to extract maximum flavours as nature intended – producing a whisky of incredible taste and smoothness, with layers of vanilla and candied orange peel, interwoven with sugar coated almonds. Non chill-filtered
Aroma: Toffee, butterscotch, vanilla, and a curious hint of stewed fruits. Classic Glenmorangie mentholic top-note, interwoven with an unusual nuttiness, reminiscent of Brazil nuts in toffee.
Taste: Candied orange peel, sugar coated almonds, sweet vanilla and marzipan.
Finish: The taste goes on and on, finally giving way to some oak-derived spices – clove, ginger and a hint of aniseed.

Summary: Whilst we are proud to place the Laing family name on all the casks we bottle, there are some whiskies which are so remarkable that they deserve a little extra recognition. Hunter Laing's Old & Rare name signifies a rare single cask malt that has been bottled at the peak of its flavour. Whether it was the water, the wood, or even the location in the warehouse, circumstances have conspired to create a sublime drinking experience which once consumed, can never be repeated. Each bottling of Old & Rare has been matured to perfection, so due to the angels' share there are comparatively few examples to emerge from each cask. Presented in a highly distinctive squat bottle, each expression comes beautifully packaged in a specially crafted wooden box. The personal tasting notes of our expert "nose" are included to complement the views of each individual taster. It goes without saying that each cask remains unadulterated by excessive filtration or added caramel. Although each sip from an Old & Rare cask is an exquisite experience the pleasure must be tempered with a little sorrow, due to the fact that such a taste can never be exactly replicated again. Country/Region: Scotland/Islay. Unit: 70cl ABV: 56.5% Age: 35 Year Old Distilled/Bottled: Sept 78/Oct 2013 Tasting Notes: A full bodied nose of earthy peatiness with a touch of iodine and sea salt. Initially sweet on the palate with peat coming through. A definite honey note takes over, giving a smooth mouth feel. The finish is long and lingering with the peat fading slowly and the honey giving a pleasant after taste. Bottles filled from cask: 231

The perfect gift for the person who enjoys malts that are uncompromising in their character.
TALISKER 10 YEAR OLD: A rich dried-fruit sweetness with clouds of smoke and strong barley-malt flavours, warming and intense. Peppery at the back of the mouth.
CRAGGANMORE 12 YEAR OLD: Nestling on the banks of the legendary salmon river, Cragganmoreª is, for many, the home of the definitive Speyside malt. Hugely complex, rich with layers of flavour and a whiff of smoke in the finish.
LAGAVULIN 16 YEAR OLD: A much sought-after single malt with the massive peat-smoke that's typical of southern Islay – but also offering a dryness that turns it into a truly interesting dram.
Lagavulin is an intensely flavoured, smoky-sweet single malt with seaweed flavours and a huge finish, aged in oak casks for at least sixteen years.

Ardbeg’s past, present, future – in a bottle.
Contains CLASSIC notes of Ardbeg’s yesteryear on the nose as mellow, RICH, enticing ARDBEGGIAN FLAVOURS mingle with the dark chocolate, TREACLE and NUTTY oak.
Then, like standing on Ardbeg’s pier this morning, water brings forth briny SEA-SPRAY with a PINE RESIN lime top note for a remarkably FRESH BOUQUET.
On the palate, ROBUST PEAT smoke and SMOKY BACON meet creamy VANILLA with the hint of SHERRY CASKS, culminating in a taste of the future… an aftertaste that is NEVER-ENDING…
PERPETUUM. A whisky that is forever Ardbeg.

Summary: Colour: Deep amber. Aroma: Mellow, rich and enticing, with the unmistakable Ardbeggian combination of tar, soot and pine resin. This leads into dark chocolate, treacle toffee, coffee grinds and a distant, nutty/oaky note. A splash of water initiates a burst of fresh, briny sea-spray with a hint of salt, some linseed oil, and then some more of the classic Ardbeg pine resin/lime top note. A remarkably fresh bouquet for such a peaty whisky. Mouthfeel: Creamy and mouth-coating, slightly chewy. Taste: Intense, robust peat smoke, savoury smoky bacon, cinnamon and nutmeg, but also an incredible creamy, sweet vanilla/milk chocolate note, which soothes the palate. The never-ending aftertaste, sees more linseed oil (a hint of the sherry casks in the recipe), some creosote and tar, but understated, always gentle. ABV: 47.4%. Unit: 70cl.

Nose: what a beautiful mix between clean, alluring barley and citrus, mainly clementine’s; a little lavender freshens it up even further; Taste: just about a perfect impact on delivery; the malts are salivating, the sugars are crisp and clean, the vanilla un-embittered…wow!!! Finish: here’s the dull bit Glendullan…the oak injects a little natural caramel but a few spices compensate; Balance: at last! A Glendullan how I normally see it in the blending lab, rather than when tasting bottling’s for the bible. Of late they have been pretty ordinary and hardly representative. This one is much truer to its known quality among pros, mainly due to this crisp malt being presented in decent oak for a change. 93 Points / Jim Murray's 2015 Whisky Bible. Nose: This is clearly a wonderful nose: a lot of oak influence, but what a fragrant sexy kind of oak it is: Old, Hints of smoke and cigar humidor. Lots of sherry cask influence too. Fortified wine. Balsamic. Plum jam. Thick with a few mint leaves to create one heck of a complex nose. Heavenly.
Palate: Great mouthfeel. Very approachable. Dried fruit and smoky tobacco leaves. Orange bits , plums, peaches. Chocolate and bitter oak. A peppery tang too. Sweet and savoury. With a nice amount of oak.
Finish: Sweet orange marmalade with traces of smoke tobacco. Dry. Oak.
This is a superb dram, one of the better Karuizawas i had in the same league give or take as the other 1984 cask 3692 , (if we take out the 1964 one I’ve had, which is in its own league).
Tasting Notes: Whisky Israel.

Summary: The distillery was built in 1821 by Peter Brown, the factor of the Seafield Estates of Moray and Banffshire, and is named after Linkwood House, the family home. Brown?s son, William, carried on the business and rebuilt the distillery in the 1870s. One of the managers in the 1930s believed that absolutely everything in the distillery played its part in making the whisky what it was and he commanded that nothing – not even a cobweb – be removed. Had he lived long enough, he would have been dismayed in 1962 when the internal layout was radically changed and again in 1971 when a second distilling unit with two pairs of stills was built alongside the original Linkwood single-pair set-up. Country/Region: Scotland/Speyside. Bottler: Gordon & Macphail. Unit: 70cl ABV: 43% AROMA WITHOUT WATER: Burst of freshness – hay like notes, with a defined hint of well toasted malt. Some candied fruits emerge and a subtle Sherry influence lingers. Herbal with a touch of Rosemary. TASTE WITHOUT WATER: Mouth watering with a sweet and creamy edge. Some delicate hints of bonfire embers develop. Vanilla emerges and a hint of peppery warmth comes to the fore. AROMA WITH WATER: Toasted malt, with a Sherried sweetness. Hints of citrus notes (lemon zest) linger and a defined vanilla edge becomes apparent. TASTE WITH WATER: Initially sweet and warming with hints of mixed spices and a defined dark chocolate nose. A subtle touch of peat smoke lingers in the background.

Summary: To conclude a very rewarding year for me, professionally and personally, Hunter Laing & Co Ltd. is releasing two special new lines. The first of these is an Anniversary series of six casks, bottled to celebrate fifteen years of our flagship Old Malt Cask brand. Together with my sons Scott and Andrew, as well as our Master Blender Tom Aitken, I have selected casks from our maturing stocks which each do justice to the label's fifteen year milestone. These cask-strength Anniversary bottlings are presented in green glass with wooden gift boxes, and are finished in the original-style labels to pay homage to the earliest Old Malt Cask releases. Choosing these casks allowed me to reflect with pride on my last fifteen years as a single cask bottler and, in reviewing our stocks, to look forward with relish to the next fifteen years of the Old Malt Cask. Summary: The Macallan Reflexion represents the natural colour and beauty of The Macallan – a true reflexion of the foremost influence of first fill sherry seasoned oak casks.
This incredible whisky has been given its character both in colour and in taste in part by the maturation in smaller hogshead casks allowing a greater surface area of wood to interact with the whisky – in this case Spanish and American Oak casks were used in the maturation process.
The result is spectacular both in its rich colour and its its sublime complex taste.

Summary: For over 25 years Miltonduff Distillery produced 2 different Single Malt Whiskies. In 1955 due to the increased demand within Hiram Walker for different styles of whisky, a chemical engineer, Alistair Cunningham designed the Lomond Still. This type of still had a wide neck which housed three rectifying plates. These plates were used to vary the amount of reflux that took place within the still thus altering the spirit produced. The plates could either be filled with cool liquid or left dry. They could be rotated – the horizontal position would maximise reflux while the vertical position would reduce reflux. Due to increased demand for Ballantines Blend in the 1980s, the Mosstowie stills were altered to produce Miltonduff – the key component of Ballantines. Country/Region: Scotland/Speyside. Summary: Country/Region: Wales. Unit: 70cl. ABV: 41%. Penderyn Red Flag is the first edition in the Icons of Wales Series. It commemorates the first time that a red flag was raised as a symbol of social protest: during the 1831 Merthyr Rising which ended in the execution of miner Dic Penderyn. The Red Flag special edition carries a passage telling the story of Dic Penderyn, whose real name was Richard Lewis, and the bottle features a specially commissioned print by the artist Andrew Davidson. The whisky is finished in madeira casks to impart a delicate flavour of subtle complexity. Tasting Notes: Aromas of fresh apples and citrus fruits intermingle with cream fudge and sultana raisins in the nose to create a complex yet fresh, clean and well-balanced whisky. In the mouth, this single malt whisky is incredibly smooth and both fresh and rich dried fruits abound. Delicate and sweet on the palate with just a hint of bitterness to remain refreshing, then slowly presents a long finish leaving an aftertaste of Madeira cake and sultanas. Soon Penderyn's own fresh green apples and boiled berry fruits join in. In the mouth, cream sherry flavours, obvious but not overt, mingle with delicate fruits reminiscent of white currants and honeydew melon. Age: 27 Years Old

70cl

Summary: Douglas Laing & Co. proudly offer this fine example of the Distillers’ Art as a special selection from their oldest stocks of whisky. No water is added to reduce its strength, as the Angel’s share has already taken care of that. No caramel, colouring is added, so that you can see it’s pure and natural colour. They have chosen to bottle this malt without chill-filtration in the old fashioned and traditional style. By so doing, they leave in the entire Distillers’ preferred qualities apparent on the nose, palate and finish – self evident when you remove the cork. As you can see on the label, this is one bottle of a very restricted offering, which once consumed, cannot ever be repeated. On the nose, detect a harbourlike quality with an Islay ferry, oily engine room style plus late soft summer tar. The palate opens softly and sweetly spiced, developing to a richly smoked, softly peated character. On the finish, waves of smoke and spices intermingle and run to a hot chilli amd dark chocolate trait plus a late mentholated style.

Glenturret 26 Year Old / 1986 Hunter Laing

£ 250.00
Country: Scotland
Region: Highlands
Age:
Strength: 46.8%

Summary: GLENTURRET DISTILLERY was licensed in 1775 but had been distilling illicitly since 1717 and can therefore claim to be THE OLDEST DISTILLERY IN SCOTLAND.
In keeping with this long history the distillery retains some unique traditions, mashing grist by hand and slowly fermenting the wort in wooden washbacks, for twice as long as other distilleries, to produce an extraordinarily smooth and fruity spirit. The middle cut of the spirit is selected by hand not by computer as it is in other distilleries.
Having worked closely with the Edrington Group, Hunter Laing & Co. Ltd is pleased to offer this exclusive limited-release of Glenturret 26 years old single Highland Malt whisky.
Bottled at natural cask-strength and without chill-filtration or artificial colouring, this small-batch release is a wonderful example of this small, artisanal distillery’s production. Matured in refill-bourbon casks specially selected from the distillery’s own stocks by its Master Blender, the whisky has a velvety palate with toffee notes and a vanilla sweetness combined with the unmistakeable fruitiness of ripe pineapples.
Limited to 2400 bottles worldwide and presented in a wooden gift box with accompanying certificate, this officially-licenced bottling of Glenturret 26 years old is available exclusively to partners of Hunter Laing & Co Ltd.
Colour: Golden to dark straw in colour, its tint speaks clearly of its long maturation in North American oak;
Nose: The whisky is wonderfully complex on the nose with sweet, fruity notes such as toffee apples combining with strong confectionery elements including milk chocolate & caramel along with toffee popcorn & fragrant woody notes including sandalwood & furniture polish. With the addition of some water it then becomes a little briny & musty;
Taste: On the palate, this Glenturret remains sweet with sherbet, some gentle spice and toffee notes. The caramel and golden syrup notes carry across from the nose to the palate and combine with an appealing vanilla sweetness;
Finish: The finish is medium to long, with caramel and ginger spice lingering on the palate.

Summary: The 6th release from Glenmorangie's award-winning Private Edition, Tùsail is the product of a carefully-selected parcel of Maris Otter barley, floor-malted by hand using traditional techniques, and non chill-filtered.
A rich winter variety of barley first introduced in 1965, Maris Otter was bred specifically to meet the demand for a high quality brewing malt and recognized for its ability to impart rich, rustic malty flavours. Now used only by a select few who continue, like Glenmorangie, to uphold an ethos of sacrificing yield for quality by using only the finest ingredients, the result is a whisky celebrating the variety’s renowned taste profile.
Aroma: Deep earthy, robust aromas of malty, biscuity tones, with a backbone of nut toffee.
Taste: A rich, rustic profile of nut toffee, sweet barley malt, ginger, cinnamon, and dates in molasses complements more familiar Glenmorangie notes of peaches, oranges and smoked pears.

Kilchoman / Loch Gorm 2015

£ 62.50
Country: Scotland
Region: Islay
Age:
Strength: 46.%

Summary: Kilchoman launch third annual Loch Gorm limited edition release
Independent farm distillery, Kilchoman, will be releasing a limited edition Loch Gorm Single Malt Whisky in March. Only a limited quantity of the exclusive bottling will be available and if past releases are anything to go by, it will sell quickly.
This is the third annual Loch Gorm Single Malt to be released by Kilchoman. Each release is differentiated by the distillation and bottling dates on the front of the bottle and gift carton.
Kilchoman’s Loch Gorm releases are traditionally matured in ex Oloroso sherry butts and this latest edition is no exception. Where the 2015 version differs from the previous year is the use of sherry hogsheads to mature a portion of the whisky rather than just sherry butts. This edition will also be marginally older than the five year old 2014 version, it being bottled from casks filled in both 2009 and 2010.
Anthony Wills, Founder and Managing Director of Kilchoman, said: “As well as this year’s release being slightly older, we decided to increase the ratio of single malt matured in smaller sherry hogsheads versus that matured in larger sherry butts. This increases the influence from the sherry casks and gives the whisky a striking intensity and richness. That said, the whisky retains the balance and complexity Kilchoman releases are well-known for.”
This range is named after a famously peaty loch over looked by the distillery; Kilchoman draws water for the production of Loch Gorm and their other releases from the burn that runs into the loch.
Colour: Deep and rich.
Nose: Soft, spicy and rich with light smoke dark chocolate and citrus fruit.
Palate: Soft fruits and peat smoke with a rich sweet finish.
Finish: Long and sweet, lingering smoke, well balanced.

Caol Ila 5 Year Old / Hepburn's Choice

Caol Ila 5 Year Old / Hepburn's Choice
Country: Scotland   Region: Islay
Age: 5 Years Old   Strength: 46%
Summary: Nose: new make but born with new born nip strainded out. The smoke is nothing more than pure grist. Rother lovely;
Taste: and the highly peated grist, the sugars have the big say on the juicy delivery, but the smoke forms the framework;
Finish: more of the same, with a little spice arriving late;
Balance: when little things like oak aren't about to interfere with new make Caol Ila for five years, what isn't there to like?

 Glengoyne / 1968 Vintage Reserve

Glengoyne / 1968 Vintage Reserve
Country: Scotland   Region: Highlands
Age:    Strength: 50.3%.
Summary: The Glengoyne Distillery is situated in a wooded valley in the southern Highlands of Scotland close to a small river that flows into the famous Loch Lomond. The distillery, which takes its name from "Glen Guin" or Glen of the Wild Geese, has been producing an exceptional single malt scotch whisky for nearly 200 years.
Glengoyne is one of the few distilleries producing whisky in this part of Scotland today. However at the beginning of the nineteenth century it is recorded that at least eighteen whisky stills were in operation in this area. But these, like many others at that time, were illegal. Whisky producers were forced to produce whisky illicitly as they were unable to pay the heavy taxes imposed by the government on spirit production to fund wars against France. Smuggling became rife and the hills and glens around Glengoyne formed a perfect cover for this lawless activity.
It was not until the 1820's that an Act of Parliament was passed reducing the duty on spirit and the cost of a licence to distil which put an end to illegal production. This gave rise to a rush of stills being legalised, including those at Glengoyne in 1833. It is reputed that Glengoyne was one of only a few stills to be licensed in the southern Highlands due to the high quality of whisky it produced.Sir Walter Scott's novels capture the romance and intrigue of this period in Scottish history. In particular with his character, Rob Roy, who was renowned for cattle thieving and other activities and is believed to have once escaped the law by hiding in an oak tree just 300 metres from the Glengoyne Distillery.
In 1876, the Lang Brothers from neighbouring Glasgow bought the distillery and ownership still remains in Scottish hands with the Edrington Group taking over the distillery in the 1960's and the independent, Scottish, family owned business, Ian Macleod Distillers Ltd. acquiring the distillery in 2003.
The changes in ownership have done little to affect production of this unique malt as the traditional working methods have been passed from generation to generation to create this subtle, complex whisky in which all the delicate flavours are freely allowed to express themselves.

 Glenmorangie / Tain L'hermitage 1978

Glenmorangie / Tain L'hermitage 1978
Country: Scotland   Region: Highlands
Age:    Strength: 43%
Summary: Glenmorangie – The Men of Tain: Meet the Men of Tain, the select craftsmen entrusted with the secrets of our distillery. Men whose dedication, skill and attention to detail proves that the Glenmorangie story is not just about whisky, it's also about people.
A Dram For A Difficult Job: There was a time when the Men of Tain would queue up for a daily dram of whisky with their lunch. Huddled together they would pass around a metal cup – blackened through constant use – and share a joke at the expense of one of the lads. This tradition, as well as the practice of handing out an extra dram for unpopular jobs like cleaning out the washback, is still fondly remembered by some of our more long serving men. Perhaps a little too fondly you might say.

Gordon & Macphail / Strathisla / 27 Year Old / Vintage 1967
Country: Scotland   Region: Speyside
Age:    Strength: 40%
Summary: Founded by George Taylor and Alexander Milton, it was originally known as Milton – named after the nearby Milton Castle. Strathisla was the name of the actual whisky produced and eventually became the name of the distillery.
Much of Strathisla's production is used for blending and the distillery is the home of the one of the most famous blends – Chivas Regal. The distillery is the oldest in Northern Scotland and is certainly a delightful distillery to visit as it has an almost fairytale quality.

Glenmorangie / Taghta
Country: Scotland   Region: Highlands
Age:    Strength: 46%.
Summary: Colour: Burnt Ochre.
Nose: Curiously nutty and salty at full strength, reminding you of brazil nuts embedded in toffee, hints of linseed oil, and some savoury cured ham.
A splash of water opens up the whisky, bringing into play a burst of aged balsamic vinegar, dried fruits, tangy-orange, and a gentle reminder of Christmas incense and spice.
Taste: The texture is oily and viscous, with a delicious primary flavour of caramelised orange and lemon, plump sultanas, a hint of brown sugar, but then a wave of salty, briny notes – olives, salted cashew nuts and some nice, toasty oak flavours, like walnut and leather.
The long aftertaste is rich, mellow and soothing, with flavours of toffee, caramel, chocolate and dates.

Sazerac - Straight Rye Whiskey

Sazerac – Straight Rye Whiskey
Country: American   Region: American
Age: 6 Years Old   Strength: 45%
Summary: The One and Only New Orleans Original. Sazerac Rye Whiskey symbolizes the tradition and history of New Orleans. Rye Whiskey that dates back to the 1800’s, around the time when saloons, veiled as Coffee Houses, began lining the streets of New Orleans.
It was at the Sazerac Coffee House on Royal Street where local patrons were served toddies made with Rye Whiskey and Peychaud’s Bitters. The libation became known as the “Sazerac” and America’s first branded cocktail was born. This is the whiskey that started it all.
Unique Features: With its distinctive bottle reminiscent of early settlers and “coffeehouses,” it’s easy to see how the Sazerac Whisky became a staple in the creation of one of America’s oldest cocktails.
Tasting Notes: Aromas of clove, vanilla, anise and pepper. Subtle notes of candies spices and citrus. The big finish is smooth with hints of liquorice.

Glenmorangie - Companta Private Edition

Glenmorangie – Companta Private Edition
Country: Scotland   Region: Highlands
Age:    Strength: 46%
Summary: Inspired by Dr Bill’s travels across France’s greatest vineyards and the friends made along the way, Glenmorangie Companta (Scots Gaelic for ‘friendship’) is a refined balance between bold spice and rich, smooth sweetness; the result of a careful assemblage of spirit extra matured in Grand Cru casks from Clos de Tart and those of a lusciously sweet fortified wine from Côtes du Rhône.
“The smaller of the region don’t seem to worry about yields, costs, or timings. They work tirelessly, simply to produce the very best wine. In the same spirit as Glenmorangie, they stop at nothing in the pursuit of perfection.
“This shared philosophy inspired me to create the ultimate tribute to my longstanding love for French vineyards and the friends that I’ve had the pleasure to make throughout my travels.” – Dr Bill
Colour: Deep cherry red.
Aroma: On the nose, Companta exudes rich, autumnal scents of red berries and damp forest floors, with a hint of fragrant woodsmoke complementing notes of aromatic, nutty oak.
Taste: Upon tasting, a spicy palate redolent of cherries and stewed fruits is slowly revealed, as notes of sugared plums, blood orange and rose-hip syrup emerge alongside milk chocolate and brown sugar.
Finish: Companta lingers on with a rich, mouth-coating finish.

Mosstowie - 33 Year Old Gordon Macphail Rare Edition

Mosstowie – 33 Year Old Gordon Macphail Rare Edition
Country: Scotland   Region: Speyside
Age: 33 Year Old   Strength: 46%
AROMA WITHOUT WATER: Freshly washed wool and hessian. With hints of polished oak, beeswax and orange peel.
TASTE WITHOUT WATER: A sweet liquorice and aniseed flavour. Pepper and ash notes linger.
AROMA WITH WATER: Creamy hot chocolate aromas with spiced orange and cardamom notes.
TASTE WITH WATER: Cinnamon and Clove influences with hints of Cedar wood.

Port Ellen - 34 Year Old Gordon Macphail Rare Edition

Port Ellen – 34 Year Old Gordon Macphail Rare Edition
Country: Scotland   Region: Islay
Age: 34 Year Old   Strength: 46%
Summary: Port Ellen is one of the three main villages on Islay and one of the two ferry terminals on the island. The distillery was expanded in the 1960s and temporarily closed in 1983. Its white painted buildings form a street close to the seashore. Only peat which was dug in the district was used in the drying and the water was taken from two lochs in the nearby hills, the principal one used for distilling purposes being noted locally for its purity. Next to the distillery is a modern Maltings which exudes pungent peat smoke.
AROMA WITHOUT WATER: Smoky and liquorice influences with fruity undertones and hints of pear. A fresh sea breeze aroma.
TASTE WITHOUT WATER: Sweet, with peat smoke elements emerging followed by hints of aniseed. Some hints of kippers linger.
AROMA WITH WATER: Butterscotch and pear, with slight medicinal notes. Reminiscent of a wooden fish box.
TASTE WITH WATER: Dry ash flavours balanced with salty brine notes.
