The Cheshire Whisky Event 2014 – Tickets Available Now!

The 5th Annual Cheshire Whisky Event is the whisky tasting and sampling event of the year and will be taking place on Monday May 5th 2014 at Willington Hall, Cheshire.

Willington Hall is justly famous for its unrivalled views across the Cheshire countryside and magnificent sunsets behind the Welsh mountains. Willington Hall stands in 17 acres of award winning formal gardens and parklands.

The Hall makes a perfect setting for the Cheshire Whisky Event which appeals to both the enthusiast and the novice alike.

The event aims to provide the ultimate whisky experience with expert advice on hand and the opportunity to learn about the whisky basics.

In short, there is something for all!

The Cheshire Whisky Event gives you the unique opportunity to sample some of the greatest whiskies in the world and get a great chance to mingle with whisky producers, distillers and marketers.

EXHIBITORS: Each year The Cheshire Whisky Event brings a different balance of exhibitors, however, one thing that is guaranteed is a selection of the greatest whiskies in the world!

Edencroft has 6 New additions to it’s range this week with a Japanese malt (Yoichi) and some Douglas Laing Directors Cut whiskies from the Lowland, Orkney and Speyside regions.

The brands include Aberlour, Highland Park, Littlemill.

The ages of the new whiskies range from 20 to 46 Year Old malts.

Compass Box key Limited Edition release of 2011

A very fine, very limited edition in homage to the Vatted Malt category which
from midnight on 22nd November 2011 will become illegal. This ancient term
will thereafter be replaced by Blended Malt Scotch Whisky.

Made from a marriage of fine, old single malt whiskies from Islay and
Speyside distilleries: 22% Glenallachie 1974 (36 yo) aged in first-fill sherry butt,
78% Caol Ila 1984 (26 years old) aged in American oak hogsheads.

Aristocratic, intense, dried fruits are underscored by a subtle, sweet
smokiness, and perfect maturity.

Bottled at Cask Strength

Production: approx 1,323 bottles

Each bottle will be personally signed by John Glaser

Compass Box Limited Edition release of 2011

A very rare, small quantity, limited edition in homage to the Vatted Grain
category which from midnight on 22nd November 2011 will become illegal.
This ancient term will thereafter be replaced by Blended Grain Scotch Whisky.

Made from a marriage of fine, old single grain whiskies: 31% Invergordon
1965 (42 years old), 14% Carsebridge 1979 (29 years old), 20% Port Dundas
1991 (20 years old) and 35% Cameronbridge 1997 (14 years old)

All aged in first-fill American oak barrels

Deep aromas and flavours of vanilla pastry cream, toffee and lightly toasted
nuts, with a subtle and elegant complexity.

Bottled at 46% vol.

Production: approx 297 bottles

Each bottle will be personally signed by John Glaser

The Old Malt Casks

A favourite amongst whisky drinkers since it’s humble beginnings back in 1998 (when 50 single cask bottles were produced by Douglas Laing to commemorate their 50th anniversary).

Today, The Old Malt Cask regularly offers over a hundred superb Malts to the connoisseur or anyone else who likes a good malt!

The new additions to Edencroft’s range are below and they all scored brilliantly in Jim Murray’s 2012 Whisky Bible – an average of nearly 94!

The Old Malt Cask, 20 Year Old AULTMORE – scored 93 Points – Jim Murray’s 2012 Whisky Bible.

The Old Malt Cask, 18 Year Old ABERFELDY – scored 94 Points – Jim Murray’s 2012 Whisky Bible.

The Old Malt Cask, 15 Year Old BENRIACH – scored 93 Points – Jim Murray’s 2012 Whisky Bible.
