"Pinball Machine high ball cascade" Highland Park Highland Park Distillery is the most northerly malt whisky distillery in Scotland and the closest Scottish distillery to the Arctic Circle. Highland Park was established in 1798 and is one of the few Scottish distilleries which continues to malt barley on its own traditional malting floors and to use locally cut peat from Hobbister Moor in its malt kiln. Kilchoman Kilchoman Distillery was established by Anthony Wills in 2005 at Rockside Farm near the centuries old Kilchoman Cross and the old Kilchoman Church on the Isle of Islay. Kilchoman Distillery is a malt whisky distillery which malts barley grown in Rockside fields and bottles Kilchoman single malt whisky at the distillery using local Islay water. Field to bottle. Kilchoman is the newest and most westerly of Islay’s distilleries and with just two small stills it is one of the smallest working distilleries in Scotland. Nose: Soft peaty aromas and a blend of soft fruits and spice. Palate: An initial sweetness is followed by soft peaty aromas, mixed fruits and spice. Benriach 25 Year Old Authenticus Country: Scotland Region: Speyside Age: 25 Year Old Strength: Summary: Heavily peated single malt Scotch from Benriach distillery in Speyside. Matured for 25 years and bottled at natural colour and non chill filtered. Benriach John Duff commissioned the Elgin based architect Charles C. Doig to design Benriach Distillery which was duly established in 1898 just south of Elgin and complete with a siding connecting Benriach Distillery directly to the great North of Scotland Railway and the scotch blenders down south. But Benriach Distillery opened just as the whisky bubble burst and was forced to closed in 1900 and remained closed until 1965. Benriach’s maltings did continued to operate but finally closed in 1999. An iconic Scottish malt whisky distillery complete with a Doig pagoda roof over the malt kiln. The Benriach Distillery range includes limited releases of triple distilled, peated and un-peated single malt whiskies. Just 200 bottles at full strength have been released featuring a rather splendid Crown Jewel. Bunnahabhain Bunnahabhain Distillery was established in 1881 on the north eastern tip of the Isle of Islay by the shore of Bunnahabhain Bay and overlooking the Sound of Islay. All the building materials were transported by puffer and unloaded at the distillery pier. Now tucked away at the end of the single track ‘main’ road with spectacular scenery all the way. Bunnahabhain Distillery is equipped with four huge pear shaped stills and produces Scottish malt whisky which is released in blends and single malts. To celebrate 60 years reign of Queen Elizabeth, the label features the official Diamond Jubilee 2012 logo. Royal Lochnagar Highland whisky Distillery is located just a mile from Balmoral Castle, the Royal families official Scottish residence. Royal Lochnagar James Robertson established the original Royal Lochnagar Distillery on the north bank of the River Dee in 1823. Following a fire in 1826 he opened a new Royal Lochnagar Distillery close by the southern banks of the River Dee and in the shadow of Lochnagar Mountain which also supplied the distillery with water from wells on its lower slopes. Royal Lochnagar can claim the royal prefix, a royal warrant and royal neighbours in the summer time.
